Gender Affirming Care Ban for Minors & Sports Ban

Ohio House Bill 68 strips away parents' rights to choose medical care backed by every major medical organization in the US and substitutes politician's choice of care (psychological treatment only) for gender dysphoria.

HB 68 is currently blocked by a restraining order sought by ACLU of Ohio and granted by Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.

A hearing will be held at Franklin County Court of Common Pleas at 9 am on July 15.

HB 183

Trans School Restroom Ban

Makes it illegal for trans people, teachers and staff to use the bathroom aligning with their gender in primary and secondary schools, universities and technical colleges, putting trans and cis children and adults at risk. Similar to HB 6, there is no statistical evidence showing women are put at risk by trans women in bathrooms. The reverse is overwhelmingly true.

HB 8

Don't Say Gay - Forced School Outing

HB 8 would require school staff to alert parents if a student appears to be questioning their sexuality or gender without exceptions if parents are suspected of abuse.

SB 83/HB 151

University DEI Prohibitions

The amendment to this bill calls Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs "controversial" alongside climate policy and marriage. SB 83 tramples on academic freedom by giving the state control over what universities can and cannot say, weakens tenure, and limits higher ed strikes. These provisions will handicap Ohio's ability to attract top students and faculty.

HB 245

"Peforming While Trans" Ban

Ohio House Bill 245 will make it a felony for trans people to "perform" with children present. This bill equates "obscene" with dressing in clothing inconsistent with one's sex assigned at birth and "strippers" with trans people dressing as themselves. "Dress codes" were weaponized in the mid twentieth century to criminalize LGBTQ people. HB 245 will do the same.
